As partner
congregations of the Des Moines Presbytery Coordinating
Team, we are working with our alliance of partner
organizations in Egypt, Together for Family Development, to
eliminate:
-
hunger of
the mind with literacy training;
-
hunger of
the heart with job training and self-sufficiency skills;
-
hunger of
the soul by helping each other, Christian to Christian
and Muslim to Christian, to succeed.

Joining Hands is a program
that builds bridges of solidarity between coalitions of
churches in the United States and networks of overseas
churches, grassroots groups and non-governmental
organizations (NGOs).
The focus of this program is to address the inequities and
suffering resulting from the spread of globalization around
the world, through community education, advocacy,
alternative economic activities, lifestyle changes and
spiritual grounding.
Joining Hands is an initiative of the Presbyterian Hunger
Program.
